Australia Day – 2022

PA Pundits International

By Anton Lang ~

January the 26th is set aside every year here in Australia as the day we celebrate the founding of Australia. This was the day when Captain Arthur Phillip first claimed this vast Continent in the Southern Hemisphere as an English Colony on the 26th January 1788.

Years earlier, Captain James Cook had discovered the Eastern Coast of this Continent on his voyage of discovery and exploration in 1770.

This vast continent was already populated with indigenous people, but when Captain  Phillip claimed the land, this was the first time a foreign Nation had come here to settle this vast Continent.

I have Posted a series on the discovery and settlement and the early days of Australian settlement, and the links to each of those five separate Posts are at the bottom of this Post.

Climate Extremists’ Hideous Wind Farms Coming To Your Backyard

PA Pundits International

By Craig Rucker ~

If all goes according to plan, Magic Valley Energy will soon be installing up to 400, 740-foot-tall wind turbines, 485 miles of new roads, miles and miles of transmission lines, and buildings filled with half-ton battery modules on upwards of 197,000 acres at Lava Ridge in southwestern Idaho.

The company is named after a beautiful valley that soon won’t be nearly so magical.

The acreage is equal to 15 percent of Delaware, and the turbines, at 740 feet tall, are larger than the Washington Monument — an appropriate comparison because the project is being advanced in cooperation with a climate-obsessed Biden administration determined to replace fossil fuels with “clean” energy.

For the administration, saving the planet from computer models of manmade climate disasters is far more important than saving land, scenery, habitats, wildlife, and ways of life from the ravages of wind and solar installations.

Tracking Hunter Biden’s Aid To Other Dissolute Bidens

PA Pundits International

By Tim Graham ~

In mid-January, a hullaballoo broke out about an application form Hunter Biden signed in 2018 to seek a rental in California. It listed the address on his driver’s license to Joe Biden’s house in Wilmington, Delaware – the same house where they just found classified documents. The form also suggested the “monthly rent” on his “Current Residence” was $49,910.

My first joke to co-workers was how high was Hunter when he filled out this form? It sounds ridiculous he was paying $50,000 a month in rent for a residence. When conservatives started asking questions about why Hunter Biden was paying $50,000 a month at his father’s house with classified documents in the garage, you could be confident the liberal “fact checkers” would leap to defend the Bidens, and they did.

PolitiFact and The Washington Post each went after Fox News, the Daily Caller, and other conservative…

Mirror Mirror On The Wall, Who Raised California Energy Costs For All?

PA Pundits International

By Ronald Stein ~

California Governor Newsom is emphatically finger pointing, scapegoating, and complaining that oil companies are making outlandish profits, but he may be out of touch with the elephant in the room, the mirror on the wall.

While the governor is doing everything he can to shut down oil production in one of America’s most oil-rich states,  the governor is blindly pushing California energy policies ahead of our basic energy realities – leaving the state at the mercy of an unstable world for the vast majority of its energy supplies.

While the U.S. scrambles to protect its energy security, California oil production is down 25 percent under Newsom, costing the state and the country millions of barrels of badly needed supply that could help ease prices at the pump and protect against volatility.

Under Newsom’s watch in the last few years, two of California’s refineries…

Free Speech Under Siege

PA Pundits International

By Gary Bauer ~

The right of free speech doesn’t depend on whether we like the person who is speaking or what they are saying.

Wednesday’s announcement by Meta, otherwise known as Facebook, that it is lifting its ban on Donald Trump and allowing him back on the platform is long overdue. How in the world do these American social media giants justify banning conservatives from their platforms?

When Facebook banned Trump, he was the sitting president of the United States! They kept him off as a private citizen for two years, while all kinds of bad actors are still on.

Seriously, Iran’s Holocaust-denying dictator is allowed on Facebook, but not Donald Trump. Antifa is allowed on Facebook, but not Donald Trump.

In a country built on free speech, this is totally outrageous!

It shouldn’t matter whether you like Trump or not. The right of free speech doesn’t depend on…

America Needs Energy From Alaska’s Willow Project

PA Pundits International

From the team at CFACT ~

By Calrence ‘Bud’ Albright ~

You don’t have to be Nostradamus to see the Biden Administration’s hostility to the traditional U.S. energy mix sets us up for long-term trouble. The president made it clear on his first day in office he would cede America’s hard-won gains in energy projects that led to new dominance in global energy production.

With the stroke of a pen, he laid low the cause of American energy independence by canceling the permitting needed to build the Keystone XL pipeline. When finished, it would have supplied as much as 880,000 barrels per day of petroleum and be an important part of keeping the U.S. as a major reducer of prices on the world energy market.

Team Biden crowed about their victory, showing its indifference to the devastating effect such policies have on all Americans as it set the stage for…

Mayorkas To The Rescue?

The Lone Cactus

I would never really consider someone like Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas to be some sort of super hero. I wouldn’t expect him to fly in and rescue some damsel in distress. In fact, I think he has a hard time putting his shoes on in the morning. So, how in the good Lord’s name could he ever race to the rescue?

When it’s Democrat “Sanctuary Cities” that are crying foul.

And this leads to a bunch of questions and hypocrisies of the left. First of all, let’s tackle the headline. Mayorkas was addressing the US Conference of Mayors’ Winter Meeting. He told the assembled crowd that FEMA was ready to help out when it comes to the illegal aliens being bussed to their cities by people like Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, and Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis. As he put it, “FEMA is providing Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds…

In Case You Missed It…

The Lone Cactus

“It” happened last Friday morning. “It” was actually something that is more serious than inflation. It’s more serious than immigration reform (that’s saying a LOT coming from me!), and it’s more serious than fixing the southern border.

“It” is the debt ceiling.

And in case you missed it, the federal government hit the latest debt ceiling of $31.4 trillion. That means that technically, the US Government can’t be spending any more money, or at the very least incurring any more debt. Now, since we are borrowing money just to pay the interest on the $31.4 trillion that’s out there in debt, you have to realize that unless some shenanigans are pulled, we are going to be defaulting on the debt.

That has never happened.

But this time, I think there is the possibility, even though Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell says it won’t. Mitch isn’t in the House, where Republicans…

Does Trump Step In MORE Problems???

The Lone Cactus

In 2016, when Donald Trump came down the escalator at Trump Tower in New York City to announce his candidacy for president, I was like a lot of you. I was amused. I didn’t think he was going to be any more than one of those celebrities that decides that they need something better to do with their life, and so they run for office. The country is full of them. Think about it. You’ve got people like Ronald Reagan (not a great example, he turned out pretty well), Sonny Bono, Fred Grandy, Jesse Ventura, Clint Eastwood, and Matthew McConaughey. I at first, put Trump in the same boat. He turned out to be a pretty decent president from a policy standpoint. From a political standpoint, he was a trainwreck.

And now he’s back…sort of.

The left obviously doesn’t want anything to do with Trump after his one term in…
