The jury in the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin began deliberating the case late Monday afternoon.

But a California congresswoman’s comments over the weekend may have already opened the door for the defense to appeal if Chauvin is found guilty of killing George Floyd last year.
